Visiting Professor at the Cochin Institute - Marvin Edeas
Marvin Edeas (justia.com/inventor/marvin-edeas) holds studies in nephrology patients and studies how microbiota metabolites impact the mitochondrial activity of these patients. He has been participating as a visiting professor at the Paris Descartes University (Cochin Institute), since 2016. Marvin Edeas was chair of the Scientific Committee of the Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria Congress (2016), which brought together more than 400 individuals. His research focuses on the effects of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress in chronic diseases.
Important Research on HIV
At Paris Descartes University, Marvin Edeas shed light on the impact of oxidative stress and co-infections in patients suffering HIV. For his efforts on HIV, he was recognised by Sidaction. Back in the nineties, Marvin Edeas carried out extensive research on the acquired immunodeficiency virus.
Marvin Edeas - Oysters and Peptides Derived from Hydrolysates Modulate Oxidative Stress
Marvin Edeas’ developments have found a real use. Two Nrf-2 modulators separated from peptides and proteins, which can activate the antioxidant defence system, were determined by Marvin Edeas. Oyster hydrolyzate has applications in the areas of medicine, dietetics and cosmetology.
The Past of Marvin Edeas
With superoxide dismutase enzymes (SOD) lying at the core of his work, Marvin Edeas, together with Joe McCord, organised the first world congress on the subject at the Pasteur Institute. In between the years 2004 and 2013, he taught at the Paris 13 Bobigny and Poitiers Universities. Marvin Edeas followed a course which covered infectious diseases at Paris-Descartes University.
